Dear Learned Member,
As
per resolution of the meeting of BAAS Executive Council held on
30/08/2020 and subsequent advertisement in national dailies on
05/10/2020 (Daily Janokonto and Daily Observer) elections for the
various offices of the BAAS Executive Council and Sectional Committees
for the year 2021 and 2022 will be held on December 19, 2020. Further
details as to the above are given below:
1. The office bearers and members to be elected are as follows :
A. For BAAS Council :
President: One
Vice Presidents: Two
Treasurer: One
General Secretary: One
Joint Secretaries: Two (One from Dhaka Metropolitan Area and the other from outside Dhaka)
Member: Five
B. For each Sectional Committee President (Section): One
Secretary (Sectional): One
Members (Sectional): Five
2. The Section are:
Section I : Agronomy, Soil Science, Horticulture, Floriculture, Agricultural Extension etc.
Section II : Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Forestry & Plant Pathology
Section III :Physics, Applied Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Meteorology and Computer Science.
Section IV : Chemistry and Applied Chemistry
Section V : Geology and Geography
Section VI : Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Medicine, Nutrition & Veterinary Science
Section VII : Engineering Science and Technology
Section VIII : Social Science, Psychology, Anthropology, Education and Economics
Section IX : Zoology, Fisheries, Entomology, Animal Husbandry, Poultry, Wildlife Biology etc.
3. The schedule of Election is as follows :
Last date for receiving nomination papers: November 15, 2020 Sunday (3:30 pm)
Date of scrutiny: November 16, 2020 Monday (11:00 am)
Declaration of valid nomination papers: November 17, 2020 Tuesday (11.00 am)
Last date of withdraw: November 19, 2020 Thursday (11:00 am)
Last date of ballot papers sending to members: November 25, 2020 Wednesday (3:30 pm)
Last date and time of receiving ballot paper: December 17, 2013 Thursday (12:30 pm)
Counting of votes: December 19, 2020 Saturday (10:30 am)

One copy of the nomination form is being sent herewith. If you need
more copies then you may photocopy the nomination form. One nomination
form for one candidate only. One who has nominated may withdraw his/ her
candidate by a written communication addressed to the returning officer
under his/her signature.
5. For election of Sectional Committee
members belonging to the respective section only will take part. Members
are requested to kindly quote their membership number and section in
the nomination papers and in all communications.
